Ive travelled a lot on trains like I said before the main trains and the little ones to get from village to village etc and every train I have been on has had doors often you need to be a muscle man to close them but seriously Roulla there are doors on trains!!! and curtains to block the sun.
Also the trains I have been on from Tunis - Sousse also have air conditioning and often a moody chap walking through with sandwiches etc. I know Tunisia is a little behind but really were not in 60's!!
