Hi,

I must agree, that not all of the taxis, but there were some taxis that were driving around badly damaged & to be honest you really did wonder how they managed to get from A to B in it!! However, I didn't give it much thought because the taxis are so cheap & when you think of it how can they afford to pay for any repairs when they are charging very little for your journey.
I once took a taxi from Hammamet to Tunis, it took only 35 minutes (high speed driving!) & it cost no more than £3 & I even got a large packet of sweets from the driver for my walk around Tunis!!!
However, I did see a few crazy drivers on my visit, but then we do get crazy drivers everywhere, but yes you would think that if the car is quite badly damaged then it shouldn't be classed as road worthy & fail the mot, but I think their laws are far more relaxed as to what they class as safe!!!

jools.
