There are gays and lesbains in Tunisia and I have even met a few gay Tunisians myself. However though not aggressivly persecuted it is not generally accepted and you certainly will not find the equivalent gay clubs like you would in other places.

If you wish to go with your boyfriend girlfriend to Tunisia for a romantic holiday i am sure it is fine but would be very reticent to go there looking for love as you may meet the wrong kind of people and I cerntainly would not kiss in the street I mean my wife doesn't kiss me the street so two guys/girls could cause some problems.
