Don't worry about your papers; I'm Swedish and apparently the demands differ. I have seen the British site on Tunisia.com and it contains great info for you. I contacted the Tunisian Embassy here and they gave clear instructions. Once I got to Tunisia the authorities there also gave clear instructions - unfortunately, they were not the same! But, now I know what they want where we are going to be married. As far as where to marry - Tunisian authorities apparently do not always accept weddings abroad. If a Tunisian woman marries an Englishman, for example, in England, she won't be seen as married in Tunisia - and as we know they are not big on people just living together there... I am also planning a small ceremony here, once he get's here (insha'allah) because I want a Christian ceremony also, plus I can't bring my guests to Tunisia. My church is fine with just one of us being a Christian. By the way, have you seen the MSN site Girlfriends of Tunisians that someone recommended here earlier? Contact them, you can only join after contacting Jane, the manager, and you will have loads of British ladies to chat to about weddings and relationships in general.
