I've just been driving once in Tunisia and even though it just was in Hammamet (in Tunis I would never even dare to try to drive) I thought it was awful. In Sweden we are tought to drive deffencive, but in Tunisia (and many other southern countries) the driving is very offencive. So if not neccessairy, I will not drive there again. But the worst thing was that it totally costed us a lot of money, because during the night when we had the car parked outside the appartment someone bumbed in to it so the car got damages and we had to pay for those damages. Before we had rented the car I had asked about extra insurance in case someone would bump in to it, and the man at the rental office just said that it wouldn't be any problems. You just call the police and sort it out...but that is not working when you don't know how did it. When we had payed the damages we tryed to get a receipt from the car rental companies garage specifing the cost of reparing each damage, because then we could have got some of the money back from my swedish insurance company. But we never managed to get that receipt and finally gave up. So next time we rent a car we will be very careful from what company we rent it from.
