Tunisian director Nouri Bouzid has been awarded with the Golden Tanit at the 21st Carthage Cinematographic Days.
Mr Bouzid was recognised for his film Making Off, at the event which came to an end on November 18th.
The 61-year-old film maker also saw the main actor from the production awarded with the Golden Tanit for best actor.
Tunisian Lotfi Abdelli was given the award for his role in Making Off.
Other winners at the event include the Palestinian director Sameh Zaobi, who was awarded for his movie Reste Tranquille, which translates as Be Quiet.
The best actress award went to Thouraya Alaoui from Morocco in recognition of her performance in Tarfaya by director Daoud Aoulad Syad.
