Tunisia has been celebrating the 19th anniversary of the change which marks the country's progression into a republic.
Since 1987, the year Tunisia gained independence, people up and down the country have celebrated on November 7th.
A ceremony was held in Carthage to mark the occasion, with president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali as chair, reports TAP.
A number of Tunisian people were decorated with the November 7th Medal and the November 7th Prize for Creativity was also given out.
In addition, the president himself received an award from the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate.
Mr Ben Ali was presented with the Al-Quds Shield and named 2006 Figure of the Year by the respected group.
"The present and future of Tunisia are built with the hands and minds of its people," said Mr Ben Ali. "While being faithful to the glorious past of our fathers and forefathers and to our great reformist heritage, and showing allegiance to Tunisia alone."
