Tunisian artists' work will be showcased in a prestigious international arts symposium in Dubai.
The fine arts fair invites 41 sculptors and 27 painters, whose work is exhibited and judged by both an independent jury and their fellow artists.
There is also a timed painting and sculpting competition at which artists create works while under public view within a limited timeframe, with awards given at a concluding ceremony.
"The event … underscores our commitment to strengthen the fine art culture of Dubai, and takes art - as a process and product - from the confines of galleries and exhibition halls to the people's midst," stressed Ahmad Al Matrooshi, UAE managing director for Emaar Properties, which sponsors the festival.
Although contributors from countries as diverse as Mexico, Sweden and Serbia will take part, the emphasis of the event is on traditional regional creativity, giving Tunisian and other Middle Eastern and North African artists a special place at the heart of the symposium.
The festival forms part of the annual Dubai Shopping Festival, which brings together retail fairs headlining with global design names and entertainment offerings from around the world.
