Under the auspicious the American-Tunisian Association with collaboration of the Tunisia's embassy in Washington, the annual lectures took place in Havard University organized by Dr. William Granara, professor of Arabic-language and literature who gave to the prestigious Johns Hopkins University a lecture on the theme "Culture and politics as reflected in Tunisian contemporary literature."
In this regard, Prof. Granara made an outline of the various stages which marked the Tunisian literature from pre-independence to nowadays.
Also He pointed up its major characteristics and the ways of thinking it has experienced as well as the oriental and western influences it has undergone.
Many Tunisia's friends, intellectuals and academics took part in this event in many renowned universities in the Washington region, such as Georgetown University.
