These micro-irrigation techniques let the storage of water inside soil and protect it against evaporation and all other forms of waste during a period of up to three or four years.
- dissiminating water-saving irrigation technology, a sector highly supported by the state with a view to rationalising water consumption and making the best utilisation of this resource, has been enriched with three inventions made by Tunisian researcher Chahbani Bellachheb.
Infact This researcher specialised in geophysics is intented to industrialise and market his own innovation so as to optimise the management of water resources.
These inventions have come to crown a 23-year career at the Medenine-based Arid Regions Institute. The researcher, holder of a "Doctorat d'Etat" in physical geography, benefits from advantages made available to researchers and creators.
These innovations in micro-irrigation enabled him to win national and international recognition. Actually he was awarded to him by the Maghreb Commission charged with food security, during its December 2007 meeting.
