Default Tunisia-women: the World Women's Day

As part of the celebration of the World Women's Day,Participants expressed in the international meeting on "Tunisian women and political life" held by the National Union of Tunisian Women (UNFT) their consideration and gratitude to President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali for the interest he has taken constantly in the Tunisian women.

They congratulated also Mrs. Leila Ben Ali, the spouse of the president of the republic.

In this regard , participants noted that Tunisian women at home and abroad were appreciated by the message that the Head of State had given to them on the occasion of the World Women's Day, pointing out to the prestigious position they take in this era that is aquired by women in Tunisia and achievements accomplished for them, making of Tunisia a remarkable model in its regional and international environment.

After all these advanced measures and amendments decided by the President of the Republic for women and family, signatories of the message voiced their commitment to preserve these gains and consolidate them in order to reinforce the society of equity and moderation as well as their will to contribute to ensure the success of the important political events awaiting the country including in the first place the fifth congress of the Constitutional Democratic Rally (RCD).

In this respect They put emphasis on their support and deep cohesion of UNFT militants at home and abroad around president Zine el Abidine Ben Ali, exhorting him to run for the presidential election of 2009.
