Default Sfax

I introduced myself last week. My boyfriend will be living in Sfax. Since I will be visting Tunis and Sfax, can anyone enlighten me on this city. I know its the second largest city in Tunis but thats about it. Any opinions or insight on this city would help tremendously.

Thanks
Susie

Hi Susie,

My sister in law lives in Sfax and I know they have a beach and you can go diving there, also you can get the boat over to Kerkennah which is an island about 30 mins on the boat. Sfax is a big city apparently the finance capital of Tunisia, hence all the Oil companies are mainly based there.

Hey Susie,

I visited Sfax in 2004 and loved it.
I went to Kerkenneh too, on the ferry and saw some dolphins offshore.. I could only imagine the abundant sealife under the water.
I was surprised that there werent any glass-bottom boats, as there were in Aqabah, Jordan. Or maybe there were on the tourist-y parts of the island.

I cant really recomend hotels or anything, sorry I stayed with my in-laws and ate in, lol. But I do know that is was a beautiful city, esp the old downtown (Souk Alarabi) and the various 'Babs' that suround it.

Hope this has been some help! Have fun in Sfax!
