Oh how positively lovely! An island like this would make such a wonderful
vacation spot. Do you know what the population of Djerba is year-round,
or is it mostly a tourist resort area with very few locals?

I do wonder about the population of this city. Tunis has the biggest population in Tunisia. For heavily populated cities, it's best if you go with someone who knows their way around.

I just looked it up and it says that the population of Djerba is 90,000 people. I was quite surprised at the number. I just thought it would be less.

If that's permanent residents (and I assume it is) I'm surprised, too... I would
have guessed more like 10k or less!

Have just spent 3 days in Djerba not having visited for 3 years. Made it my base to travel in the south. It's a beautiful island, very accessible by ferry or by the Roman Road. The temperatures were really comfortable ranging between 19 -24 degrees. I love the calm and quiet there. Also revisiting the Chichkhan Coffee Shop is always delightful.
