Default Any Americans in Tunsia?

I am an American married to a Tunisian man. We have a daughter and plan to move to Tunis in about 3 years or less (as soon as he finishes school) and I am very distraught about the fact that I only saw one family there that was American when we have visited. We are muslim too, so I think most American families that would be there are Christian? Can someone help!? Also, what sort of job can I expect to get in Tunisia? And how do we find housing that is similar to the American style that is affordable?
Im gonna go crazy! Anyone know how to get this info?

I am not to sure but I am sure that there are American's that do live in Tunsia. Maybe it just seems so overwhelming because you have just visited their. Hopefully there might be some on here that will be able to point you in the right direction.

I hope that you will be able to find other American Muslims in the country. It would be very difficult moving to a place where there wouldn't be other families that you'd have something in common with. I think you're wise to be thinking about this and asking these questions well in advance like this. Keeping it for the last minute would be very stressful. (Even more than it is now, I mean).

It is really difficult to move ahead and start out a completely new life in a totally different country. Hope you find out some Americans in the place you heading too.

Default I am American

Hi,
I am married to a Tunisian and we are talking about moving to Sousse in a few years. I am Muslim as well but I know how you feel. I don't know if I could live there full time. I love Tunisia but there are not very many Americans there. Where will you be moving to??

Hi Cyndi,
Well I told my husband that somewhere near Carfour is a MUST for me, and also his parents live in Ben Arous which is about 20 minutes away from Carfour. I guess somewhere in that area. I really like the houses as you get closer to Sidi Bou Said, but I think they are far more expensive in that area. Where at in the US do you live now? We are in Virginia, in the town that Virginia tech is in that the school shooting happened last year. Maybe we should email each other....my email is taylorbeji@msn.com

I guess I might check out first for a place with anyone staying locally to find out the apartments or a colony where generally all the people from one country reside together.

Is there a place where certain nationalities tend to live together? Kind of like a China Town or Little Italy? Just curious to know? thanks.
