Default insects in Tunesia

What are the insects that bother you during your stay in Tunesia? What type of repellant should you bring while travelling? Any DEET?

Default Hi

Hi,

Well everyone is different but for me I hate the flies, mosquitos, and cockroaches. There are so many of these it drives me crazy, the best thing I have to fend away the mosquitos is a plug in repellant, and my mosquito net!!!

I am with you I cannot stand cockroaches and don't let me see a spider. They are my worst things.

Hi Ya,

Jeez forgot about the spiders too!! The problem I find with the cockroaches is I cant stand them and yet I cant squash them, maybe its the sound it makes but I have to yell for the closest person to get rid!!

Citronella Essential Oil can be used as a bug/cockroaches/mos repellent. I’ve used it in the past. Put a few drops into a spray bottle with water and use it as an air freshener deterent. You can use the oil directly on the body, but I would use it in a base oil like wheat germ etc and massage on the body. It’s quite a potent smell so be careful you don’t feel nauseous. It does the trick though.

I knew that works against mosquitoes for sure. They have terrible mosquitoes in Minnesota, where I'm from. My Dad loved fishing and camping on lakes that were abundant in mosquitoes.

Default Hi

Hi Grace,

My plug-in repellant is citron and that works quite well, but the love the idea of the citronella mixed with water to use also as an air freshener, 2 in 1

You and me both love the freshener scents that they have. I love those scents that put you in another world. Most of the time, the candle with scents are wonderful.
