Default question

Hello Kris,

I travel to Tunisia with my boyfriend in 3 weeks. I´m really looking forward to stay in 4* hotel in Hammamet Yasmine, but I have one doubt: Can I sunbathe topless? Do I have to wear the top of my bikini necessarily? I practice this kind of sunbathing usually in Croatia or Italy on the beach or by the poolwithout any problem of natives , but I am not sure if it is also accepted by Tunisians due to their religion. Can you give me a quick answer please? Thanks, Dominique

Default RE: question

Hello Dominique and welcome to the forum!

I have seen many ladies sunbathing topless in the hotel complexes in Hammamet (usually when Hajer tells me not to look and thus making me look LOL). And I would say it isn't an issue in this environment.

However I would be more reticent in other areas though during peak times there are a number of topless sunbathers on the beach.

One thing that always makes me laugh is that some folk feel that a bearded "inquisition" are going to decend on ladies for being topless/scantily clad. More likely is that the sight will make some young Tunisian man feint and the annoyance of male attention is more of a likely result.

In essence

Hotel Pool: Yes if mostly tourists
Beach: Possibly if others doing the same
Other Areas: No unless you want to feel like lady godiva

Hope this helps be sure to pack sun lotion!

Kris
