topless in monastir????

hi, me and my boyfriend are going to tunisia in 2 weeks for the 1st time, staying at sahara beach, monastir, what i want to know is can i go topless around the pool and on the beach????

hi just come back from sahara beach hotel, loads of people were topless around the pool and on the beach so nothing to worry about. Do cover up when leaving the resort because i made the mistake of walking up to the road from the beach in my bikini. I know muslim woman cover up but you think that all males over there had never seen a female in a bikini before. Also in Monastir if you go shopping (not recommended) where something that covers you up, knee length skirt, 3/4 trousers cause the locals will look at you and that also makes you feel a bit uncomfortable.

I wouldn't say it's a problem to be topless ... may be i even think it's nice ( for men ) , but if we gonna think about respecting other people and other cultures .. i would be a little bit carefull with this ... i mean if you are in a place surrounded by tourists and everybody is topless than is fine ... but for example if you are on the beach ... you know laying enjoying the sun and next to you ... there;s a Tunisian family .. let's say parents and their children ... i think it's not nice for them ... because i know for sure that or they gonna have a bad time on the beach or they will be oblige to leave the beach for you ....

I think it's smart to fit everywhere and everywhen ,,, to adjust to respect ... and to enjoy knowing other people and other culture ....

i have traveled to many countries in the middle east and i find it rude and disrespectful to go topless.we are reminded we are in moslem countries and should adher to their laws.
if someone wants to dress in skimpy clothes they should go to a non moslem country.!

i dont see the problem people goin topless in the resort that many people doin it n its nothe the same as out of resort! just aslong as u respect the culture out side of the hotels!

I would never expect a subject such as this to become such a popular thread.

Tunisia is an enigma for example my wife will feel a little under dressed showing her shoulders walking around during the day however hit the beach and bam out comes the bikini, this also applies to weddings as all the sexy clothes come out as everyone tries to look better than everyone else.

In bizerte for example there is a Hotel that is popular with Italians and they are always topless and nobody complains in fact there is a trench at the bottom of the sun bathing area where the boys have walked back and forth so much to get a peak.

As I mentioned before if you see boobs no problem but if none then dont.

However interestingly when I asked Hajer if she would ever go topless I got a pinch and was told that no nice husband would ever suggest such a thing.

i'm also surprised by the response, i only asked a simple question and it opened the flood gates lol on my 1st day i was in full bikini till i saw many women, not all english going topless so as it seemed ok i joined in, so glad too, dont want white marks lol my b/f was ok with it , actually enjoyed the looks i got lol only went topless by pool or on beach, didnt walk round flaunting them lol. we really had a great time and cant wait to go back, loved it so much i cried on take off!!!
