I drive in Hammamet a lot as I live most of the year there. I find the experience most enjoyable! Also when driving to see my husband's family in Karawaun I enjoy not having so much congestion and traffic on the roads as in U.K. I enjoy driving on the right hand side it seems better.

I've just been driving once in Tunisia and even though it just was in Hammamet (in Tunis I would never even dare to try to drive) I thought it was awful. In Sweden we are tought to drive deffencive, but in Tunisia (and many other southern countries) the driving is very offencive. So if not neccessairy, I will not drive there again. But the worst thing was that it totally costed us a lot of money, because during the night when we had the car parked outside the appartment someone bumbed in to it so the car got damages and we had to pay for those damages. Before we had rented the car I had asked about extra insurance in case someone would bump in to it, and the man at the rental office just said that it wouldn't be any problems. You just call the police and sort it out...but that is not working when you don't know how did it. When we had payed the damages we tryed to get a receipt from the car rental companies garage specifing the cost of reparing each damage, because then we could have got some of the money back from my swedish insurance company. But we never managed to get that receipt and finally gave up. So next time we rent a car we will be very careful from what company we rent it from.

My first experinece of driving on the wrong side of the road (right) was a 3 hour drive from from PEK to Feriana about 15 miles from Kasserine - wow what an eye opener! Don't people know what pavements are for!?

I never drive there now, i was once driving down to Kasserine with hubby and his friend in the car it was dark and it was raining, on the way there were no street lights so i was finding it hard to see as you know no lines in middle or side of road either :-( we were going through a little town and i went through a big puddle and didnt think anything off it until my hubby and his friend started laughing, they then pointed out i went through the puddle ans it soaked about 4 guys who were walking on the road lol i stopped driving after that
