Old Hammamet

Hi I have just spent a week in Old Hammamet at the Bel Azur hotel. The people are friendly and the weather in February/march is great. We even went on a 2 day excursion to El Jem and Douz, where we had a camel ride into the desert. The food in Tunisia is very good and if you want local beer you should drink Stella (not Stella artois) the local wines are really excellent. All in all Tunisia is a highly recommended holiday destination.

i loved them. infact cant wait to go again, had graet day and at around £20 for 3 hours its a bargain

I have lived in Old Hammamet now for almost two years. Hammamet is one of the best tourist towns in Tunisia with greart beaches, lots of night life (during the tourist season) and discos. I am biased because I am married to a lovely Tunisian Berber Man.

The happiness in you is just glowing from your post. I've visited Old Hammamet several times now but never stayed there. It is such a beautiful area. I looked at swapping some timeshare weeks (timeshare is not big, in fact practically non-existent, in Tunisia) but there are 3 resorts/hotels in Hammamet - Arabesque 1 & 2 and Dar Hayet I think it's called - would you know them? I'm only 40 minutes away in Sousse but it's always nice to actually stay in a place to get a feel for it.

One year I did a swap for a resort in Djerba but they don't seem to use the resort now.

We always stay in either the Bel Azur or Sol Azur as it's the area where my husband grew up. The grounds of the hotel complex are lovely and one of the joys of going there is to see the gardens and smell the petunias (which I swear don't have a scent in England) and walk by the hedges of rose geranium brushing up against the leaves so that they release their wonderful perfume. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh..................... sweet memories.

ohhhhh yes we did the same last few weeks but its could .....so we had goood
time with all familie over there and we did enjoy the food in the village
