Hello Rad,just came back from Hergla last night. Gorgeous weather, wonderful people, lovely village..So depressing being back home...Stayed in our flat in thalassa residence. So where exatly in the village are you opening your Irish/Tunisian cafe exactly? It sounds interesting... Will you do food?

Hello ,

We fly off to Tunisia on Sunday and will arrive ot our apartment at Thalassa residence on Monday. As only the bedroom is furnished so far, we will need to do some shopping. Our first priority will be a fridge - probably from LMS in Hammam Sousse, then a patio type table and chairs - is there anywhere in Hergla that might sell these?
We will probably have a good nose around for a couple of days, while we stay at the hotel in PEK, then have a mad shopping spree at the end of the week.
Nicole, forgot to ask in my email, are the flamingoes back on the lake yet?

Dave and Bob.

No, no flamingoes...
They have some patio tables and chairs outside the supermarket in the main street in Hergla but didn't really look closely. We bought ours from Promogros . Good choice upstairs. And it fitted in the car. (You need it! We had every meal on the balcony. If you need addresses for your lounge, let me know. I feel I know all the furniture shops by heart after shopping round last summer, last feb and again this April! The quality varies a great deal.

thanks for the info, Nicole. We are not rushing to completely furnish - we hope to spend at least a month in Hergla in november/december, so will probably ask you about furniture shops before then. We have not yet found Promogros - we can find Champion and Monaprix in Hammam Sousse, but need to explore further....

Dave and Bob.

Hi Dave & Bob

Promogro is on the outer ring road by the Hospital its Ok but Champion is cheaper. A lot of furniture is made I think on the way to Kala Kabira it depends on what style you want if its traditional local craftsmen will give you a good price. A lot of electrical stuff seems to be Hamman Sousse its so different from UK when you just go to Argos,Currys etc but makes it all so exciting I hope you have a great break be back there soon 2 wks cant wait
