Hotels I have enjoyed; Royal Salem Sousse, very comfortable,pleasant surroundings, stylish. Very friendly helpful staff, comfortable rooms. Good food,excellent choice. Sedate entertainments (you need to go next door to Salem for livelier fun). Outdoor pools a bit small but fab indoor which I really enjoyed using.

Dislikes staff at gym and beauty depts in your face every day and large numbers of Russian guests. Staff do not like them either as they are rude and complain a lot. They also can obtain very reasonable all inclusive rates much to my annoyance as coming from Scotland we always pay more.

We stayed 4 days in Hotel Hafsi down In Tozeur, the hotel was very nice, quiet and clean.. with a really nice outdoor pool,restaurant had plenty of choice of food but didnt really cater for kids who werent overkeen on Tunsian food, we basically used the Hotel as stopover and made the most of the short time there visiting surrounding areas, very pretty brick work on the buildings and walls in Tozeur, rather quiet there too could have been because it was May (early season).. We also visited Tamerza where there were some interesting sites and a large souk .... And Gafsa too.... It gets very hot down there though!!

There are plenty of hotels in the Zone Touristique outside of town, but a taxi ride into town shouldn't cost more than TD 3! My mother stayed at the Vincci Nour, 5 stars, not very expensive. I beleive they give a discount if you stay for at least a full week. Like all hotels in the zone they have a private beach, pools, I think most have thalassa... In the city my husband recommends the Sirocco.

each visit i made last year was 2 the iberostar sahara beach its a fantastic family hotel, i went with some girl friends of mine and we had a dantastic time!!! hoping 2 go some time this year

The best hotel ever (I think! ) is Hotel Le Sultan. The style is new with a maritme look, nearbye beach, with a big and green garden. A calm hotel, nice restaurants, and a very nice staff. Price? I am going there in May, and pay 380 TND for one week.
Usualy I do not live in hotels when I visit Hammamet, I usualy rent a private apartment ore I stay at a residence. Last time I was there, I stayd at Residence Arabesque. But in May me and my tunisian "best-friend" will stay at Le Sultan...we have something to celebrate.....!! :

Myself and hubby 2 be have just booked our honeymoon in Skanes at the Houda Golf & Beach Hotel....However, l was reading through some of the reviews for the hotel and they all seem to be really bad, esp the rooms and food and apparantly Skanes is really quiet....has anybody stayed here? ..... if so what was it like cos at the moment l am so tempted to change hotels

I visit Skanes regularly. Skanes used to be a small village to the north of Monastir at one end of a long sandy bay running all the way to Sousse. Nowadays Skanes is effectively a suburb of Monastir. Most of the hotels are along the beach and so out of town somewhat. So there won't be bars on every corner. But that's Tunisia for you. The Houda Beach is towards the northern end of the beach closer to Sousse than Monastir. They get a lot of English guests there. Never stayed there myself but, I would say treat reviews with a bit of healthy scepticism. One man's meat etc. Cheap taxis and even cheaper buses and louages will take you into Sousse or Monastir quickly and easily.

Is there a quick bus transfer from the hotel to the city? Or to the nearest airport?
