Well at this time of year the pool would be cold, they do have an indoor/outdoor pool that is heated.

I've just had my 2 week holiday in the phenicia in hammamet and had to say it was fab!! First impressions, I didnt think i was going to enjoy it but the hotel is fab!!! The pool(s) are great and the pool bar is great, with really nice bar staff, also handy for keeping an eye on my friends child while you have a drink out of the sun. Main pool is not too deep and seems to be better for the kids than the kiddy pool. Only problem is trying to find a lounger as the guy keeps them all for his "friends" who dont manage to appear at all during the day and they lie empty (although I think management dug him up on this at the end of my holiday as the towels seemed to get taken off of these ones)
never seen alot of breakfast but they seem to do pork sausages (which werent clearly labelled on the 1st day, for Muslims avoid all the brekkie sausages as they are all pork) Lunch was ok, but somedays both meat dishes would be fab and other days neither would appeal (pizza on those days). Dinner had alot of variety and always had a Tunisian themed selection which is good for those wishing to try the local food
Animation team were fab, really nice bunch of guys. Lots of the ususal activities going on during the day (except Sundays where animiation get a day off, shock horror). Night time shows were a little disappointing for me. Not as good as those I've seen in various El Mouradi hotels and pretty slow. Big gap in between the mini disco and the bingo and then a big gap again before the show (think we appreciated them more than other guests as we know how much work goes into doing them). Also beach party twice a week showing the usual "Tunisian night" which I think could have been less frequent but great if you have never seen it, but then it gives you an excuse to miss the entertainment on these nights and go out and about and see outside the hotel
Bar staff in the disco/beach party are great and my glass was never empty! i actually had to tell them to give me less vodka as I couldnt handle the strength of it!! Actually all of the hotel staff were pretty great and they really can help make your holiday
Quite alot of English, which is a change from where I have stayed before, but then we seemed to speak to alot of French people, who made me feel terrible for my lack of languages (not on purpose, just i feel terrible myself)
I shall stop before I go on and on, but overall we had a great time and I would recommend it Would say don't shop in the hotel shop tho as prices are quite high, best to go outside to local supermarkets etc. My friends girl paid 10TD for 2 packs of crisps and a bar of chocolate

Default Hotel Phenecia

Hi
Have just stayed at hotel Phenecia, June 18th - 25th. It has its own private beach which is beautiful, the sand is soft white and very clean. I did not see any sewage in the sea. it was crystal clear and turquoise you can go out for quite a way and still stand (and I am only 5ft 2). The people who work on the beach are ace too - special hello to Achour, medi and Adel. The men who work the sunbeds are very accommodating especially if you have looked after them with a llittle silver or the odd orange or bottle of water.

The staff in the hotel are excellent very attentive but they do know everything that is going on. It seems they each have 1,000 pairs of eyes. Freddie in the beach bar is ace. The food is plentiful and fairly varied for an all inclusive hotel but if you are sick of salad and fruit by the end of the week it is you who put the food on the plate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Entertainment team work very hard and put in a lot of effort even if they attain little. Our entertainment was made from chatting with other guests and laughing at the entertainment team efforts.

This was the best holiday I have ever had and have probably made a big mistake because i have already booked to return. Will I ever recapture that holiday??????? I hope this stops you worrying have a great time. I would give anything to be coming with you. x

hey nicola, yeah it did indeed match your review.
I never made it to the british bar although walked past it during the days. Italian guy at our hotel got refused entry from it because they thought he was Tunisian tho I think my problem was the all inclusive vodka was too good to make it to any other bars
Totally rubbish with names and so no idea which one Franco would be but they were all a sound bunch of guys, helped make the holiday fab
