hamdulla means thanks god, u say it ati bosa - gimme a kiss, shwiar shwiar is a little, inchalla is god willing, wallah is like i swear (to god). I think we are all very clever, arabic is a hard language.

A few more, ezyek-how are you reply either hamdula (thanks god), kwise is if your a boy and kwiessa is for girls meaning fine, kula tamem- is everything ok, bacha- like boss or sir. x

This is basic arabic not just tunisian it is the basci arabic used that arabic speaking country's will understand, some tunisian words are different but they will understand these also. It is not how you spell them either jus how they sound t make it easy.

Of course i dont mind, some of the words are egyptian arabic but as i said before they are not the correct spelling and not tunisian arabic just arabic, thats what the page is for to help everyone so if someone write something wrong then u should write to correct it xxxxx

teach yourself arabic,

this is good, keep this thread running with new words, soon we can surprise our partners or freinds when we tell them we know what they are saying half the time lol.

That's a good idea. Maybe we could also get one going for French as I had a crash course in remembering what I'd learned many moons ago from school. My sister & mum had gone to the loo, her bf was wandering around on his phone leaving myself & his friend (who could speak no English) with a bit of an akward silence until I realised a lot of Tunisians speak french too.

Trying to polish up on my french too ... so far, it's not really going too well ... lol

One of the guys I work with is from Paris ... only problem is ... I go blank when he speaks to me ... oops ...
