thank you daliroya, i know the healing will take some time. domestic violence is hard to come to terms with, and almost like a shameful subject. my priority right now is just to stay safe until decisions are made

I am so sorry to hear about your troubles. I have been through a similar experience here in the U.S. (not with a Tunisian) and completely understand your fear. It is a main reason I opted NOT to go to the authorities. The few times that I did, things only got worse. I will say that the abuse impacted me mentally much more than it ever did physically. I have learned after many years to protect my mind from his assaults (which still affect me 6 years later). You are doing everything right. Trust yourself and seek encouragement and support.
