Default Recommendations?

Hi,

I am travelling to Hammamet at the end of this month, and was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on where would be a nice place to eat?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

My favourite restaurant in Hammamet is Chez Achour (phone 72 280140). It is in the centre of town not far from the Kasbah. There is a very good ambiance and excellent food, especially fish. The waiters are very friendly and helpful.Another good restaurant in the centre of town is the Berbčre. The food is good and it has a view of the Kasbah and the sea but it lacks ‘atmosphere’, especially at night. The Pomodoro is also worth trying. It is clean and bright with excellent food and friendly service.

When in old hammamet I went a resturant overlooking the seafront maybe the same one that Sam went to sorry to be unspecific. it has a conservatory type front and the head waiter there is an absolute character. When me and Hajer where there we had the Lam special @ 35 dinars which was made in a ceramic pot which was broken with a knife at the table.

Hajer forgot to mention she didn't like lamb but I thought it was great....I will get the name of the place of her and return to post it here.

Default Villa Didon

Myself and Hajer visited this hotel and resturant last month whilst nosing about Carthage.

I would say that this is one of the most upmarket of locations in Tunisia.

I think it is well worst visiting for a coffee to enjoy the great view of Carthage and the punic port below. Hower it is very pricy and being from the UK the novely value wasn't that great as we have loads of places of equal asthetic impact. I think this is definately one for those who have to be in the trendiest of places but I would say to you go for a coffee and the view but for food I feel that their are better options for better value as the premium is a little too great for te style aspect (if that makes sense).

Halfaouine in burge du lac (on the main strip in a little development of cafes and shops)

This is a great place for a beginner to try lablabi.

You go in the it is modern and well presented and you can walk along and navigate the toppings that you can have.

After this you simply can go upstairs and have a good smoke/cafe/tea in the cafe above which is also nice and modern.

Hm, that's not quite how I would describe it... It's a tomato based chick pea soup and I whisk my eggs into the soup towards the end so they do get cooked but I assume someone might use raw eggs... here's a recipe link and you can click to get further recipes if you wish.
