Hi Abdullah, It is not possible to change Tunisian Dinar in the UK. In fact it is illegal to take it out of Tunisia. The dinar is a closed or soft currency - the government set the rate daily -and it cannot be bought outside of Tunisia.
Hi Abdullah, One of the others has posted on a different part of the site that you can find Tunisian Dinars to buy in the UK - I've never heard them being available before - perhaps she can tell you where you can source them and then you can change yours there!! Worth a try!
You can only buy "current" tunisian currency in Tunisia ... i have seen website for tunisian currency but these are "old notes & coins that peopple have collected and that are no longer in circulation in the country. Also make sure you change it back before leaving the country as you cannot get it changed back in any other country either.
Rachel...dont mean to contradict you, but i have bought tunisian dinar at both Thomas Cook and more recently at a money change place at Gatwick....at is was proper money, it wasnt old....
I have tried everywhere in uk to buy tunisian dinar ... I dont live near to or fly from Gatwick ... thomas cook in newcastle do not sell dinar... maybe its just specific places.. but i have seen websites where you can buy dinar and it is old currency. ... thanks for letting me know about this..
Ah right, perhaps beacuse i am in london or like you say only in certain places? BUt everytime i do buy it they always advise me that its a restricted currency....and i recon that if i tried to get 100's of piounds worth it wouldnt be possible!!
Thanx to all,
hi Nicola, say i've got about 2134.00 TND, can i change them to GBP at that places you've mentioned above? can i change them at ones or may be little by little?
thanx
I bet my friend wish he knew this before leaving Tunisia. He came back with money and found out that you couldn't exchange it Why he did I don't know? Thank goodness he didn't bring back a huge amount.
