oh yeah---my barber's right on that route, love to hang and have a coffee after a haircut. maybe a hand or 2 of schooba to pass the time---call me an old fashioned i guess---i like the simple things about Tunisia---"Green Tunis" they say   i like la grotte on a hot summer day----down to ras angles beach and camp for the weekend---maybe over to RafRaf to watch the girls in summer or how about snorkeling next to the "sunk boat" straight over the bridge or up to Nador and just stop, sit and love the view----i love Bizerte----you can have the tourists and PEK, Sousse, Hammamet or Djerba

ill take Bizerte, Tarbarka, Tunis or LaMarsa anyday (my opinion)
and Manouba la marine (i think yes?)

Manouba is far away from the beach yet its my favorite place in Tunisia. Same as you I like to keep it simple. Hangout with no more than $5 in my pocket :p play babyfoot (fuseball) eat a nice "Manoubian" special sandwich, drink coffee with friends, play rami, smoke a chicha...
    I miss it

    Kissba its the small Kasba

For example in Bizerte you have the large fort Kasba and over the other side the kissba which houses a cafe and the aquarium.

I love Bizerte but now I have lived here its definately a little boring in the winter (if you live there).

The issue with moving fro bizerte is that the QOL is better than Tunis unless you live in the parts with mega expensive houses.

I saw in the FT that they mention Bizerte and how cheap and up and coming it is it its not and there is very low wages here. I gues Tunis is now so expensive they do not bother hyping that anymore and Bizerte has doubled in price also so they are pitching after swing.

A lot depends on the new marina if its done on time and exceed expectations then Bizerte will have more to do however since I have been to a few places with nice marinas I also note that everyone wants to be at the front and thus those folks thinking all the tourists are going to go to their resturants may be dissapointed.

I like the Marina but someof the people in bizerte think its going to literally put money in their pockets which it will for some and not for others as its only a medium sized marina not las vegas.

What would really get me exicited would be to pedestrianise the city center and get people to preserve the old buildings not just in the port but in the centre generally. Bizerte has a euopean centre unlike other places in Tunisia where bad planning means everything is all over the shop. Not that they have good planning now everyone is trying to destroy Bizerte as fast as they can but the old lady still looks lovely under the bruises.

Please see my reply to your other post Carol.

I live in Bizerte and if you send me your details I will see what my team can do.

There is no point looking around the internet as in bizerte you have to literally go door to door to find a place and if they do put it on the internet they want more money in many cases.

    Regards,

    Kris
