Congratulations! You will find plenty of things to see. In Monastir itself you have the Habib Bourgiba mausoleum if that interests you, other than that Sousse and Port el Kantaoui aren't very far away. I think the Sousse medina is deifnetly worth a visit. You can also go past Mahdia and visit the old amphi theatre El Jem.If you want to go away for a couple of days or more, you can taka trip down south for instance, see a little of the Sahara, visit the dried out salt lakes... and on your way there, see the old berber dwellings and the place where Luke Skywalker lived in the first Star Wars movie. Of course there will be plenty of things to see wherever you go. Travel agents can help you and most companies are represented in the major hotels. You can ask your hotel or agent even now and get tips on websites and the likes.

Ok, I see. Some companies have websites that you can visit. Two examples are Tunisian Travel Service: www.tts.com.tn, I think all their info is in French and Tunisie Voyages, www.tunisie-voyages.com, they have info in several languages and I have travelled a lot with them and like them. I suppose you could also ask the hotel what companies they work with and search for them on the internet.

Hi all-
This is my first posting. I am writing from the US! I was in Tunisia in February and did a ton of sight-seeing in a short amount of time. I would recommend Tunsie-Voyages, we arranged through our hotel and we did a two day, one night trip with them to El Jem, and Douz and the Atlas mountains and other places, it was fantastic , the guide was great and spoke perfect English. We also loved Carthage and Sidi Bou-Said and Nebul for Pottery and Hammamet culutral center was gorgeous! We stayed in La Marsa which was also beautiful.

Enjoy, if you want more info i am happy to share!
Liz

Default Hi

Hi ya,

if you just want a day trip out in Kantaoui maybe on one of the boat trips but want to book in advance, then take a look at www.sousse-trips.co.nr

You will have a fantastic holiday, i live in Sousse only 5 minutes away from Port El Kantaoui, do take a trip down to see the beautiful port as it really is a great place to just relax and walk around.

Have fun,

Kelly x
