Default Red Lizard Train - Lezard Rouge

Well worth a trip if you are down south, is the Lezard Rouge train. It starts at Metlaoui (about 40kms from Tozeur) and the train line follows an old mining track to a working phosphate mine. The train is like something out of the old wild west and the landscape is spectacular - I was half expecting to see some cowboys & indians!! Trip last about 45 minutes. Will try to upload some of my pix tomorrow.

I would love to also see your pics of it. My husband is a train enthuist so he would love to do something like this. Do they happen to have a website that you are aware of? Thanks.

Hi there, Have tried to upload the photos but message is telling me that limit is 97.7KB and my photos range from 380 to 523.9 KB. I'm not too technical and I don't know if there is any way around this. Can anyone help please? If no solution would be delighted to email you the photos - also got one of a pomegranite tree in the middle of the date palms in Nefta and some of the salt lake and salt camels at Chott el Djerid. Had a quick look on google but can only find references to LR on a couple of sites so far.

Well Essem I hope you can upload those pictures ! I would love to see the trains you are talking about. I just love trains and it's years since I've been on one. You sound like you really enjoyed yourself.http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/56/Le_l%C3%A9zard_rouge_%2840%29.jpg/800px-Le_l%C3%A9zard_rouge_%2840%29.jpg

Hi Grace, I've asked now a couple of times for help to upload but haven't heard from anyone yet. Had a look at the link and some of these photos are just marvellous! The train and the journey is just how I'd imagine the old wild west to be!

The first link is the picture of the train. The second link is a huge array of Tunisian pictures. I just love these pictures. They have everything in them from the train, the caves, the architecture. But most of all I love the market pictures and the children at school.

I upload pictures on my website and blog. If it has a picture I love it more. Because you have a picture to go with what you are saying. It speaks louder than words. But I can't seem to do it either.
