A new air service has been inaugurated yesterday March 31th ,2008 from Nice(France) to Tozeur(Tunisia).
The first Tunisair flight from Nice landed on Monday, at Tozeur-Nefta international airport. Actually, Two weekly flights (Monday and Thursday) are planned between the two cities during the period of September to June.
This new air service is part of the Tunisian tourism agenda intended to widen air transport activities in the Tozeur airport, that will have an affirmative effects on Saharan tourism.
In this respect, the line from Tozeur to Madrid will be re-opened as of November 2008 and a daily flight from Tozeur to Tunis was scheduled.
In deed, This flight carried parliamentarians, journalists, tour operators, businessmen and French figures, which echoes the importance of this transport and Tourism events; In this regard, minister Khelil Lajimi held a news conference in which he highlighted the role of air transport in the promotion of Saharan tourism.
He insisted on the need to enrich cultural tourism by organising large events and festivals and diversifying cultural spaces to create a tourist dynamics all the year round.
