Tunisia has won a second term as chair of the World Tourism Organisation (WTO) executive council.
The country's tourism minister, Tijani Haddad, has been leading a delegation at the event in Algeria, reports TAP.
Mr Haddad used the meeting to pay tribute to the council members for once again displaying their confidence in Tunisia.
He went on to reiterate the country's commitment to the promotion of responsible tourism and spoke of the values of dialogue between civilisations, tolerance and world peace.
The WTO secretary general, Francesco Frangiali, pointed to Tunisia's achievements and work in promoting the WTO as reasons behind its re-election.
Tunisia was also highlighted for the efforts it has made and the success it has experienced in developing tourism in the country.
