Tunisia is endeavouring to build up a reputation of great medical destination at arab, african and European level.
Three indicators testify to this performance: first of all the decline in the number of tunisian sent for treatment abroad from 1152 in 1987 to less 180 in 2006.Then,the rise in the number of foreign patients treated in tunisian clinics from 43000 in 2003 to 71500 in 2006 patients taking the waters each year in Tunisia.
Several factors have contributed to this growth, including the services provided by tunisian clinics, the availability of advanced medical equipment, the professionalism of paramedics, the high quality of health care, the good reputation of tunisian doctors and notably the competitive prices.
