With the help of this project we will establish stronger commercial relations with Tunisia, a formerly friendly country to Turkey.” Şener also underlined that the four-stage operation to be executed during management of the airport will provide for a capacity of 22 million passengers. “The airport will be built on 4 300 hectares of land. In the first phase the terminal building will be 90 000 square meters,” said Şener. He also noted that a new terminal building will be built at the Enfidha International Airport and it will incorporate an open parking lot, a runway, a jet way and new service premises with taxi lanes.
