TUNISIA-TOURISM: A new dynamic for a better positisioning

Thanks, Roulla, Essam and Lucy, for you adavise. I had some excellent advise from Issam a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, i am still very interested in buying(maybe need a little more convincing!) Shall be in Hammamet for 3 weeks on the 2nd March and arranged to see a guy from a companay called "Avila Taylor Global Estaes Ltd'" anybody had dealings with them? Again, thank you all.

I did have dealings with Avila Taylor. I initially contacted them as I wanted to buy in Hammamet and they advertise both Hammamet and Sousse on their website. It turns out that all of the property in Hammamet belongs to The Tunisian House as they originally wanted to work with them and market their property, sending customer to them. I kept emailing and enquirying about viewing properties in Hammamet, but the answers were always non-evasive and directing me to Sousse all of the time, saying what an excellent investment it was, because really all the time, they never had any properties in Hammamet in the first place.

Also I know that this sounds really silly, but in places, even the description and the write-up of the properties in Hammamet and also some of them in Sousse, is a direct copy word-for-word from the Tunisian House website!

Hi Paul, Before my friends recently bought a property in Tunisia, they checked the prospective businesses with Companies House in London and as they could find no trace of Avila Taylor being registered, they decided not to go down that route.

Had no dealings with them directly, however when making enquiries, their web site at the time of trying around November/December 2007 was down! and was diverted to http://www.findaproperty.com/agentde...&agentid=12574
and at the time of calling, the number was diverted to an office in Manchester, who put me through to a voicemail to their offices in London to someone called Paul.

Hi Paul,

From reading your post again, I think you really have doubts about buying if you feel you need more convincing. In my humble opinion (for what it's worth!), if you have any doubts (about anything) - don't! You're either not ready to buy or your heart isn't in it. You either love the country and want to buy/live there or not! If you have to be convinced, it's not right for you.

The first time I visited Tunisia, I felt I had come home. I knew in my heart I would return and that I wanted to live there. I felt an airy peace and felt I'd been there before. I found my place. With respect, I don't think you have found yours yet!
