Default Sfax to Tunis by train

Hi, can anyone tell me if I can get a train from Sfax to Tunis very early in the morning? I'm staying in Sfax in February and we will be going to the Embassy in Tunis but we have to be there at 8.30am. Can we travel early that day or would we have to travel the day before and stay overnight in a hotel?

well, i think you have to be very early in SFAX TRAIN STATION because the fisrt departure is at 2:10 night which arrives to TUNIS at 5:55(it takes about 4 hours).

i've looked for another time but it seems that doesn't work just because the second train is at 5:25 which arrives at 9:15 am, so you could not reach your appointement.

i think you will have to be early as i said to you before 2:00 night to buy your ticket and have your place.

good luck.

Thanks Bouha, I think it might be easier to travel there the day before and pay for a night in a hotel. I'm very grumpy if I don't get my sleep!! Thanks for finding the information for me.

Hiii, I don't think that is possible to have an early train in the morning but you should check it however there is a bus coming from the south and going to tunis and it stops in sfax ! i know that it leaves frm the south at 20:00 so might be at 24:00 or 1 o clock in sfax and it arrives to tunis around 7h 7:30 !
Check it and see what is the best for you
Have a nice trip;-)

That's a great way to plan ahead and give yourself the time you need. Staying in a hotel for the night will keep you rested for your journey.

I would be inclined to go for this option i think Dizzy, your clearly not gonna get much sleep the night before appearing for an Embassy interview but by staying over in hotel in Tunis the night before at least u can rest and only worry about the interview, whereas if your travelling through the night on train/ bus you would be also stressing about what if the train/bus broke down etc.
Have travelled on the train from Sousse to Tunis and vice versa and that seemed like a forever trip in itself......lol
good luck wahtever u decide!

xx
