Default For marriage in Tunisia ....help!

Hi there,

How are you all? this is my first posting so it's nice to say 'hi'!

Someone told me that you need to be resident in Tunisia for 3 weeks before you can get married there ... is this the case? Does anyone know? And is it still true that we need to have a newly issued birth certificate (3 weeks before the wedding) or has this changed now?

Help please if you can ....

Hi JO I have just sent you a private message. Birth cert yes has to be new one, you do not need to be there 3 weeks before, you put your certificate of no impediment in you local registry office has to be there 21 days he does the same out there then you can take yours with you or post it to him. Prob safer to take there. Good luck.

Truly , just a quick question.. The no impediment , you said about putting your certificate of no impediment in you local registry office has to be there 21 days . Is that in the UK too that this has to be done?
If the lady is from the UK, and gets the no impediment from the registry office in the UK. Does she still have take it to the registry office for 21 days ? or is that just for when she takes it to Tunisia.. It has to be there for 21 days (hope that makes sense)

Hi kezza

you have to go to the registry and fill in the form for no imp they then post it for 21 days you then go pick it up and take it with you to Tunisia get it translated by the embassy and thats it :-) you dont have to be in Tunisia for 21 days.

not long till we will both be there now :-)
