Question Ramadan celebrations

Hi,

I'm new to the site & my sister & I have been invited (by our Tunisian boyfriends) to join their family celebrations. Not really sure what to expect, can anyone give us a clue - please.

My fella said it starts around 4th/5th Sept this year...

Can anyone tell me something about Ramadan please...because I myself am not Muslim.

Is it 30 days of no food and drink (and no S E X apparently) between sunrise and sunset?
Or is there more you can/can't do between those times ?

Really I'm the same as Kymbers and just don't know what to expect, any advice/information would be greatly appreciated, thanks

No smoking either kezza if you do that is. No bodily pleasures between dawn and dusk, times change daily with the sun rising and setting at different times.

What you might want to keep in mind if you are planning not just to visit family but to do some sightseeing and shopping is that many shops and such close during midday and also close early in the evenings compared to when it's not Ramadan. On the other hand you will be sure to enjoy feasts with the family in the evenings!!
