Default Secular Holidays

We hear about many religious holidays but don't hear much about holidays that honor war heroes or civic leaders.

What are some of the most important holidays in Tunisia, tha tare not connected with religious traditions?

Default Hi

Hi,

Yes there are plenty of secular holidays and these are publicised just as much as their religious holidays and in Tunisia are very important such as :

Tunisian Independence Day - March 20
Tunisian Youth Day - March 21
Martyr's Day - April 9
Labor Day - May 1
Republic Day - July 25
Women's Day - August 13
Anniversary of change of government - November 7

Do these holidays involve street festivals or carnivals or are they more subdued like a 3 day weekend?
