Default Hi

Hi

They are referring to your certificate of no impediment, this is where you post your intention to marry. You can do this in Tunisia at the Embassy and then yes you will need to remain here for the clear 21 days and then on the 22nd day go to the Embassy to pick up your certificate to marry.

However you can also do this in your home country, for example UK, and you will need to remain in the UK for the 21 days and do the same procedure. The certificate is valid for 3 months so ideally get the certificate of no impediment done at least 3-4 weeks before the marriage is due to take place and bring the certificate to Tunisia with you to show to the Embassy that it has been done.

A lot of these do***ents required to get married are time sensitive do***ents and especially the full birth certificate. The British Embassy website has all the details as well as plenty of info on here.

Good luck

Hi, no it is not true. As long as he didn't actually run away from service, which of course is a criminal offence! My husband got his visa without having done his service and so have many others I know of.

Default Hi

Hi Lisa,

No plenty of people have been issued visas without having been in the army. They often crack down on it now here to get people to do the military service, but ive never heard of it affecting anyone's visa application - but then you never know with the Embassy

Good luck with your wedding

Hi all, i got married last year in tunisia and found it to be a rather complicated process.Blood test+certificate, staying for 21 days-lack of info made it difficult to stay here, translation of birth certificate,embassy-found them to be really rather rude, translation of ceremony and papers not to mention everything else that goes with.Visa process not very hard just keep evidence of you're contact-letters,emails,phone statements, plane tickets, photos etc.
Our wedding was a rather quiet affair, paperwork at the solicitors then the celebration 5 days later.Lots of family, dinner of lamb and couscous (shame i'm a vegetarian),fabulous cake though - 4 tiers 2 strawberry,2 pistachio, own chairs on a stage (very different to english custom) and some fireworks to finish off. Had a kinda hen night - obviously nothing like a uk one! But we had dancing and as much fanta as you like, my in-laws dressed me in traditional tunisian bridal dress-(each region has a different colour),but boy is all that fabric heavy...........

Hiya Guys,

Im getting married on 7th June and have all the wedding party booked and all papers. I was wondering if i can just get my cert of no impediment translated and officially stamped at a local translation office or do i defonetly need to go to the embassy? As alot of ppl say i can only get it done at the british embassy?

Can anyone shed some light on this? And if any1 would know a rough price would be great!¬

Thanks in advance.

you definitely need to go to the Embassy in Tunis and they will translate it there, we I got married in 2005 it cost I think around 107 dinar, but I think its probably a bit more now. You can get your birth certificate translated at a local translator through.
