Default Hi

Hi,

Yes you can extend your stay, if your not planning to get married or applying for a residence visa, then you will need to go to the police station in the area you are staying, with your passport and details and ask them for an extension - they will then take your details and ask how long you want to stay for etc. You will have to pay your overstay which is 10tnd a week (40 dinar a month) depending on how long you are over-staying for you will then need to normally go back to the police station before your return home and pay the overstay amount, or you can go to a place similar to the municipality to buy the stamps for every week etc you have overstayed, these are placed in your passport, when you get to the airport you have to buy a 60 dinar stamp to exit the country.

I have just payed for my 13 month overstay lol - it cost me 470 dinar in total and I have 2 visa stamps in my passport, I wouldnt advise that length of overstay though lol, but its just a case of going to the police station to tell them you would like to stay longer, they will initially agree to an extra 3 months, in other circumstances you may stay longer, but always go to the police station to confirm how long you will be staying. I really worried about an overstay and was going out of my head about it, a lot of worrying for nothing though as I found out.
