Smile Birth Certificates

I am new to this site. My wife was born in Tunis in 1944 just after the Nazi's were driven out. We are in need of a certified copy of her birth certificate. Does anyone know where (address) and to whom (official) to apply for it?

Thanks so much!

Ben

Welcome Jean

I would start at the town hall of the area in which she was born as they should have a registrar there who may be able to help.

Hi Kris,

I am sorry that it has been a few weeks since you responded to my inquiry. We have some family and work issues to contend with here.

We are in need of a Certified Copy (with Seal) of her birth certificate! She was born in Tunis, Tunisia in 1944.

What is the civil office to apply, address of the office, telephone number of the office, fax number of the office and, do they speak English? Also, about how long does it take to receive a certified copy of the Birth Certificate.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Ben

Hi Jean881,

hope that you are in good health ! I was just reading your post and thought that i would just let you know what i would do if i was in your shoes, firstly i would contact the Tunisian embassy -29 PRINCESS GATE LONDON SW7 1QG (0207-584-8117, i must admit they really are a waste of space but you may be really lucky and speak to someone who really may be able to help you.
Secondly i would contact Mr Malek Reijiba Tunisian advocat in Tunisia who speaks english and im sure that he will help you rejibamalek@yahoo.fr , please do not hesitate to pm me and i will try and find something out for you tomorrow, but if you could email this guy then thats a start. Good luck and i hope that i send you on the right track.
